Saskia, there are plenty of guys who do this (unfortunately) and you’re correct to state that most don’t see themselves as rapists. They are objectively disordered, but to them, their methods are simply how sex is obtained. But, there are many more victims than offenders. Most rape is, as I said here, serial rape.

still there must be many of these guys out there if you watch the statistics…I mean unless they do it 24 hours a day.
However I think there is a pretty large ammount of men who are just plain bad, who IN FACT think they are not doing ANYTHING BAD!! They will just think that she is asking for sex or take advantage of women when in a vulnerable situation.

Thank you for posting this. When I was getting my certification as a Rape Crisis Counselor and shared that process with many of my friends, almost all of them welcomed the opportunity to disclose their own experience(s) to me of being sexually assaulted, or at least molested. It is far more prevalent than most people want to admit and the long-term impact is profound. There’s never too much consciousness-raising in this realm, and sadly, it happens to men too.
