Well put Roger.
I carry concealed (.357 Mag.) in Michigan and have recently (within the last 3 years) become a life member of the NRA. I do believe as Americans (law abiding of course) we have the right, as well as the responsibility to own and bear firearms (to protect ourselves, our loved ones, as well as our freedom) as outlined by the second ammendment of our Constitution. As I am sure you know, we can not always (hardly ever in the Detroit area) depend on the protection of the local police for the simple fact that by the time they get involved, the crime has already taken place and the dammage is done. The job of the local police is to protect and maintain law, not personal protection, although I am sure, given the right circumstances, they would protect life, but that chance comes once in a lifetime for most.
Your views are rare within your rank and file and I applaud you for that Roger. Politically I am sure you and I differ on many issues, but as a friend, and as a red blooded American, I respect your views.
You are doing great work and on this issue, you nailed it..Say hi to Bob for me eh.. Thanks Roger

How about making guns ONLY legal for women and forbidden to the men.....that would save a lot of lifes as women are less agressive and less likely to use one.
